POLITICAL GUIDE

INTRODUCTION

The following notes, commentary, and resolutions are based on the premise and incontrovertible fact that the increase in the size of governments constitutes the greatest tragedy of our times. Government grows and the size of the bureaucracy spreads. And with an ever increasing quantity comes the concomitant diminution of the individual, his morals, health, wealth and freedom. At every turn there are the inevitable controls – a new law, another edict or administrative rule, an additional code or bureaucratic chain to bind us. Always followed with inflated currency and oppressive taxation. With the accelerating plunge into the abyss of World Government how much time do we have until the tentacles of an ominous cloud of Total Government enshrouds us all?

Our Founding Fathers with immeasurable courage and selfless sacrifice, gave us a Republic “if we could keep it”. Through irresponsibility, faith in politicians, unconcern, and lack of understanding we are rapidly approaching the point-of-no-return for maintaining even a semblance of Constitutional limited government. So with those immutable truths in mind what are ordinary American’s to do?

(Part Two)

FM 202 Part 2

GET INTO POLITICS

But not into the usual election year circuses! If ordinary Americans are to be successful they must circumvent “politics as usual.” “How may that be accomplished?” You ask, “Haven’t we tried everything already????”

The following nuts and bolts that substantiate the reasoning behind the concepts, materials, and methods may appear on the surface and at first glance to be too simplistic and sophomoric. However, with closer scrutiny and a modicum of insight the “method to the madness” will emerge with a paradigm shift in our attitudes and motivations. Not only will we recognize an “energizing realization of the problem”, but grasp the confidence and unwavering resolve to defeat it!

(Part Three)

FM 202 Part 3

OKAY, SO WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE?
Of most importance is what NOT to do. Stay away from politics as usual – both in mindset and action. Forget everything you thought you knew about getting your candidate in office. Our Founding Fathers brilliantly set-up the division of our Republic with the expressed purpose of keeping the bureaucracy tightly limited in their actions so the people would remain free. They knew that it takes big money to buy big government so by limiting the funding of venal politicians and their pork barrel bribes our Founders placed the outlay of the people’s money exclusively under the aegis of the House of Representatives, who were in turn closest to the people. Even now, after two world wars, cold wars, U.N., the ABC’s of NAFTA, CENTO, OAS, OSHA, EPA, CIA, ad nausea and all the redistribution of our wealth, the complete usurpation of power and unlimited government is still impossible IF we can in the next two elections elect Congressmen who will VOTE NO on every bill that comes before the House that increases the SIZE, COST, REACH and POWER of the government.

Mind boggling isn’t it???
The bottom line is so simple. (We didn’t suggest easy). We ordinary American’s only have to forget every office, local, state and national (including the President) except one. And place all our energies and support behind Congressmen.
Not the “VOTE for ME and I’ll give you everything you want” scum-bucket but principled ordinary Americans who have just one uncompromising resolve:
To VOTE NO on every bill that increases the size, cost, reach or power of government.

(Part 4)

FM 202 Part 4

Where do we get the candidates?

Ordinary Americans truck drivers, housewives, cooks, maids, clerks. The salt of the earth, people who would rather be left alone. Remember these candidates don’t need to know anything about anything except that they understand the problem and will do their part to solve it.

What is expected of them?

NOTHING, except once in the House they can be relied on to VOTE NO on any proposal that will increase the SIZE, COST,

REACH and POWER of the government.

What will the campaign cost them?

NOTHING Financing of the campaign will be borne by ordinary American’s who realize the urgency and are willing to help.

What degree of participation will be required during the campaign?

NONE just stay alive! There is no necessity for speeches, debates, appearances, news conferences, pie supper attendance or any of that usual campaign hoopla.

(Part 5)

FM 202 Part 5

Of what does the campaign consist?
Signs, signs and more signs. Billboards and little whizzer signs EVERYWHERE. And except for the particular candidate’s name all the signs will look exactly alike. These signs will appear in every Congressional District in Tennessee and Kentucky if they choose to follow the program. The realization that most people’s ability to comprehend is very limited, their understanding is minimal and most have a propensity to forget predicates that all of our signs, logos, and symbols reflect a continuity and singleness of purpose that cannot be misunderstood by the least sophisticated voter. And every person whether voter or not, knows exactly what is meant. The appeal will center on emotion over logic, persuasion over force and action over passivism. The propaganda must be overwhelming. Difficult but not impossible.

But there must be all sorts of forms… There are. But all the paperwork will be taken care of by ordinary Americans and except for biographical information and other required documents and proper signatures the demands on the time of the candidate will be very limited. Again the primary objective of the candidate is to simply stay alive and well.

(Part 6)

FM 202 Part 6

A paradigm shift in campaign emphasis. Heretofore we have been exposed to only one style and thrust of the machinations of a political campaign, to elect a candidate. The drill usually proceeds along these lines;

1. A person of required age and residence gets a wild idea to run for office. His motives can run the gamut from having a heavenly calling, an insatiable desire for fame and power, a dare, a threat, ambition, flattery, following orders from a higher authority or a myriad of bizarre reasons. (And in most cases stupidity should never be ruled out.) Regardless of the reasons “his hat is thrown into the ring”, the events that follow are more or less set in concrete.

2. With the candidate properly qualified he now sits firmly in the air atop a nebulous pyramid with optimistic anticipation of garnering enough financial help to radiate his “stand on the issues” throughout the potential electorate so they will fill-in the base of his support.

3 With all the forces and counter forces now embroiled in the mix the campaign now becomes one of saying as little as possible on any subject so as not to alienate potential voters while smiling and waving at every photo-op so the hard core (supporters who have been promised someone else’s wealth) will continue to “get out the vote!” This balancing act demands lying and is generally written off the conscience as political pragmatism or expediency.

4. The election takes place and if the “fix” is not already in for a particular candidate, then the contest becomes a battle of the ballots and the powers that count the votes. Some elections are obviously stolen.

(Part 7)

FM 202 Part 7

Ordinary American’s must turn the process upside/down
1. Our candidate is a “Nobody” and must be dragged kicking and screaming into the fray. Running for any office, much less for the U.S. Congress is beyond our candidate’s wildest imagination. The ideal person is already secure in career and lifestyle and has no ambitions whatsoever to plunge into the melee of “dirty” politics. The single all encompassing qualification is to simply exhibit the tenacious courage to firmly VOTE NO on all legislation that increases the SIZE, COST, REACH and POWER of the government! We need political passion not political ambition. You see now why it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to grasp the full import of the battle plan and the possible consequences.

And the consequences being:
1 Within the next election year there will be an ordinary American candidate in each and every party primary.
2 Unlike the other contenders it will be unnecessary for them to really do anything out of their regular lifestyles.
3 In the months prior to and up to a predetermined time all signage throughout the entire state will be generic and revolve around the theme of
A. Big Government is the all-encompassing problem and issue and
B. Voting FOR the candidate who will VOTE NO on everything is the only solution.
4 After the electorate (the base of the pyramid) is properly conditioned they will look up and scramble to find the candidates that reflect their new understanding and salvation. (The regular party hacks won’t have a clue as to what is going on.)
5 At that point the names of ordinary Americans appear on the same signs that have just brought about the voter’s new understanding.
6 The ordinary American is now catapulted to the top of a solid unwavering bse and propelled into a position of turning the tide.

(Part 8)

FM 202 Part 8

So what are the contingency plans? NONE! For the ordinary American it’s the only game in town. And why not? The best scenario is that ordinary Americans are elected to Congress in nine (or ten) districts in Tennessee. Highly unlikely, but not impossible. That more than five are elected, improbable. That two win, very possible. That one comes through, very likely. Regardless of what results await us at the ballot box, we will have accomplished more in the creation of understanding with less effort, energy and risk than all previous endeavors and attempts at “educating” our fellow Americans to the tentacles of destruction hanging over our heads. For the biggest “bang for the buck”

This has just got to be it!

Since everything of this magnitude boils down to money eventually, let’s have it!

First of all money isn’t everything. One dedicated ordinary American with understanding is priceless and cannot be bought. Politicians, being politicians are by necessity required to BUY their support. Hence, the emphasis in their campaigns on the urgency to raise ever and ever larger sums of money to finance (read BRIBE) the movers and shakers deemed necessary to win.

The “Media” love it! It is a matter of record that the proceeds from election year hoopla by way of “political” campaign advertising” feathers the nests of the radio, TV, newspaper and specialty printing houses to the degree that a good highly contested, presidential election can garner more profit than all the other paid advertising combined. The politicians pay the media with donations made from other special interest groups who are then “paid off” with appropriate legislation and pelf from the government treasury. The cookie jar savings donated by little old ladies are probably the only monies that come into a real politician’s coffers without some ulterior motive or strings attached. All other campaign contributions constitute payments for previous services or anticipated rewards, an investment in plunder. The going rate to get elected to Congress the old fashioned way in Tennessee is around $500, 000. That amount of money in the campaign chest of an ordinary American would amply fund the candidacy of twenty-nine ordinary Americans. Remember, unique and double-duty signs are to be the material thrust of the ordinary American’s strategy with a total boycott of the “pay before the event” expensive media. And those contributors to our cause will see the results of their donations as money well spent locally and not frittered away by a sleazy politico in some far off place on bordellos and Cuban cigars. Please keep in mind that our candidates are ordinary Americans and will remain by and large obscure until our generic signs blossom one morning with their emblazoned identity. The media which has already been subsidized by the opposition will then have to come to us FREE! At first we’ll be tolerated as just an aberration but with the avalanche of public sentiment that is sure to mount as more and more ordinary Americans awaken to the cause, our task could very rapidly become one of heading-off a stampede. At this time the tactics of mental judo come into play and with every utterance of the opposition (nothing honorable about them) will be thrown back in their face with devastating results. The more that is advanced as politics as usual by the opposition the more hopeless their campaigns become!

(Part 9)

FM 202 Part 9

There are some precedents: In the early sixties in a primary race for governor in Tennessee a “Nobody” made a challenge against another Democrat. (Maybe Ray Blanton). He was the darkest of dark horses. Republicans knew nothing about him and cared even less. (But he came within a hair of upsetting the status quo of perpetual Boss Crump politics). As far as we know he had one simple campaign ploy: commercial billboards throughout the state. They were unforgettable. Kelly greens backgrounds with big yellow block letters that screamed-out “Bill Snodgrass Will Make a Great Governor” and that was it the whole campaign. We crossed party lines to vote for the dude. (He came within a hair).
Another example may give an insight into a strategy that may be used to the benefit of an ordinary American. Albert Gore (Dem.) was up for reelection in the U.S. Senate. The seat had been controlled by the Democrats since the beginning of time and there was no chance of unseating him by a Republican in the General Election. So an ingenious plan was set into motion. Lame duck Governor Frank Clement was flattered into running against Gore in the Democratic Primary. The Republicans crossed over en masse, voted for Clement, retired Gore, and came back in the General Election and elected their guy, Bill Brock in a landslide! There’s a big thing with politico gurus called “Name Recognition.” And with politics as usual this constitutes the second most pressing urgency – closely behind raising money. The idea being that voters can’t vote for a candidate unless they know his name. That may make sense to those with inquiring minds but if the truth were known we would probably confess to voting for names on ballots that we’ve never seen before or since. The name recognition for ordinary Americans will be so attached to the political philosophy hammered into their psyche by billboard propaganda that by election time the potential voter will recognize only the “NO-body” candidate. All their responses will be of the “knee-jerk” variety. They will see the ever present “whizzer” signs even in their sleep! “Whizzer” signs as one wag described it, Talks to You! They are comprised of two components: a piece of corrugated plastic board three inches wide and twelve inches long and a ten inch (in circumference) narrow rubber band. The rubber band is looped through a small hole punched in the center of the narrow dimension near the edge and pulled tight. The opposite end of the loop is then attached to an overhanging limb, twig, or anything that will support its weight (very light) so the sign can spin freely underneath the point of attachment. The rubber band “motor” insured that the sign can is constantly in a spinning motion with its two sided, two word message a’ la’ the old Burma Shave signs. It is absolutely impossible to ignore a “whizzer” and its message! “Whizzer” signs placed strategically before opponent’s four-by-eight campaign signs along the roadway have the ability to seemingly make the larger sign disappear. A Medical Doctor whose expertise is optical surgery explained that the frenzied movement of the smaller sign captures the optic senses so completely that the background either disappears or becomes an unintelligible blur. And besides being inexpensive, the little “bombs” can blanket the district with little time and effort. One “whizzer” attached to the end of a 3/16” X 3’ dowel was waved above a crowd demands so much attention that little else is even noticed. Children prefer the “whizzer”-on-a-stick” to a gas-filled balloon! Be prepared

A long overdue assessment and critique of TRIM (Tax Reform Immediately) is now in order.

After three decades and millions of bulletins distributed not one major victory can be attributed to the little four-page jewels. Surely we’ve rattled a lot of cages and raised the adrenaline levels and blood pressure in friend and foe alike and as far as a platform for talking points we would be hard pressed to find a better medium. But now, upon looking back critically (seems almost like treason) we have to take into account the record and the premise. Unbeknown to us at the time was an assumption that Congressmen personally read and acted positively on our requests whether by letter, petitions, e-mail or TRIM. WRONG, DEAD WRONG!

Van Hilleary, TN 4th admitted this much to this writer with witnesses present!
And their blue ink signatures are all made by a machine, on compositions prepared by a bunch of arrogant, wet behind the ears nincompoops. So much for personal representation. ALL TRIM bulletins are history when they are released. They are “Report Cards” on legislation that has already taken place. They show how a Congressman did in the last round of Fascist Fed/Gov. TRIM Bulletins are about history and that’s that! Sitting Congressmen (with maybe one or two exceptions) don’t really give a tinker’s damn one way or another what people know about their voting records… they’ll lie their way out by the next election anyway. This is the reason that we need to get our candidates elected in whom we have every confidence that they will vote RIGHT-UP Front.

No Report card needed. Hopefully the days of having to vote for the “lesser of evils” will soon be over. And that never works for ordinary Americans anyway. Gore was actually the lesser of evils in the 2,000 election but went unrecognized as such. With Gore in office on the heels of Clinton there would have been such an outrage by the hoi polloi that the push for World Government would have come to a screeching halt. But with Bush being perceived as the man on the white horse the movers and shakers went back to playing golf. It was planned that way.

(Part 11)

FM 202 Part 11

Know your enemy and you will waste less time in finding your friends. Much consternation, anguish, and gnawing debate went into what is to follow. A near compelling argument for disregarding this subject altogether has some merit but after a penetrating look at just what’s at stake here leaves no alternative to take chances and lose precious time in getting done what has to be done. If our freedom wasn’t at risk and we had all the time in the world we could dilly-dally around with diplomacy and tact, be the forever “Mr. Good Guy”, and molly coddle everyone in whom we come into contact. But we just don’t have that extravagance. So let’s call a spade a “spade” and get on with the names. EVERYBODY WHO’S INCOME EMINATES, HOWEVER REMOTELY, FROM THE GOVERNMENT DOLE IS SUSPECT. They will always choose security over freedom. The National Education Association and all its members always opt for the “Yes” men who promise them more and more for EDUCATION. They are worthless to our cause. All RED REPUBLICANS and YELLOW DOG DEMOCRATS had rather die than vote for less government and lower taxes. Preachers and priest craft are our worst enemies. If they are not telling their flock that “politics are dirty and a Christian cannot participate” they are sucking all the money into their plates while espousing the Communist line of inevitability, rapture cult fetishes, and the end of time. Ordinary American candidates are anathema to their ilk. The labor union mentality cannot perceive nor tolerate an ordinary American candidate. Big business and its symbiosis with big government are too closely attached to even think of ordinary Americans in position of power. Single issue clubs are useless. They can’t see beyond their hot button. And if you think for a moment that you’re going to get much more than the time of day from your present dear friends and family – forget it! And help from The John Birch Society? You got to be kidding.

The list is nowhere near complete but you get the picture. In contrast, however, the real advantages are with us and those preponderant strata still untouched by ordinary Americans who long for less government and more responsibility. The cavalry is coming!
This manual is a work in progress and will be updated periodically as the need arises. Dates for filling, qualifications, new election laws, and gerrymandering of Congressional Districts are in limbo at the present time awaiting decisions of the State Legislature.
